Quick Tips

Instructor's Top 4 Tips

01
👀
Check Your Mirrors Every 5–8 Seconds
Consistent mirror scanning builds situational awareness. You should know what's behind you at all times — not just when changing lanes.
02
🤲
Both Hands on the Wheel, Always
Position 9 and 3 gives you maximum control and reaction time. One hand means slower correction and more accident risk on Kampala's unpredictable roads.
03
📏
Maintain a 3-Second Following Distance
Pick a fixed object ahead. When the car in front passes it, you should need at least 3 seconds to reach the same point. Double this in rain.
04
🚦
Anticipate, Don't Just React
Read the road 12 seconds ahead. Scan for brake lights, pedestrians crossing, and potential hazards. Great drivers predict — average drivers react.
